Who are we?

We are pioneers in the processing of cephalopods such as cuttlefish, squid, etc. We specialize in the import and export of all types of fish (especially cephalopods). This includes both processed and frozen products. Our operations span five continents, allowing us to offer high-quality products at very competitive prices. Currently, we have the production capacity to meet the needs of any client.

Among our most important objectives is to meet our clients' demands and exceed their expectations. To achieve this, we have rigorous quality systems managed by the company itself and overseen by the Spanish health authorities. We also collaborate with duly accredited external laboratories.

Our story

Prior to 1978, brothers Miguel Martínez Moreno and Pascual Martínez Moreno each worked independently as retail fishmongers in various towns throughout the Valencian Community. In 1978, the two brothers joined forces professionally, and while continuing their retail fish business, they also began wholesale cuttlefish sales, both fresh and frozen. During this time, they operated as a single company under the trade name "Miguel Martínez Moreno." To this end, they constructed a 600 m² industrial building, a cold storage chamber for fresh cuttlefish, a freezing tunnel for frozen cuttlefish, and purchased a refrigerated truck for transport. In 1978, they formally established the current company, "Martínez Moreno Hnos. SL." In which Mr. Miguel Martínez Moreno is listed as manager and the two brothers, their wives and children as founding partners.

Later, the facilities were expanded with two freezing tunnels and retail sales were abandoned, focusing exclusively on wholesale trade and mostly on the sale of frozen cephalopods (mostly cuttlefish and squid in their different versions and packaging).

 

Currently, we have a staff of between 25 and 30 people. We have two warehouses of 2,000 m² and 600 m², as well as two cold storage rooms for fresh produce. We also have three freezing tunnels and a storage chamber with a capacity of 500 tons. We transport our products using regular logistics companies. Approximately 70% of our sales are domestic, and 30% are exported, primarily to European Union countries such as Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, and others.
